How much homework would I have in AP classes in my Freshman year?

I’m planning to take all AP classes, along with band, which is an additional twenty minutes upon everything else. How many hours would I have on a regular night?

It really all depends on the way your teacher runs the classroom. I’m in AP Lang now and we barely ever have home work, and we don’t have many tests or essays- we’ve only done 3 essays and the school year is almost over. I do not spend any time at home for this class, but it’s really a rare case to find a teacher like the one I’m having right now. Now, if you’re taking some kind of AP History class, just know that you would have to actually read out of the textbook- not a very fun task, but most AP classes requires you to read- A LOT. Hun, do not take all AP classes your Freshmen year, it is a very stupid and bold move. You may think Middle school was a breeze, because it really is, but High School is different, at least AP classes anyways. I say take 1-2 and see how it goes, then you can decide how many ever you want to take Sophomore year. Trust me, it will do you good. I was a straight A’s student in Middle school, but now I’m even earning a "C" in one of my AP classes!!
With all that being said, you can’t really put a time down and say that’s how much you would study for. Some kids need more time than others, you really can’t estimate it. Like the first answer, you cannot just say that a fill in the blank work sheet would take about an hour in an AP class; it may take longer for another kid, while it may be a total 15 minute breeze for you. Again, do not load yourself with too many AP classes the first year taking it.
Good luck with everything.

you’re looking at a pretty big load there!
a normal AP worksheet (only fill-in-the-blank) takes about an hour.
and then there’s tests to study for…which can take a toll on you.
to be BASICALLY prepared for an AP test, i would say that it takes about at LEAST 2-3 hours of good,non-distracted studying…keep in mind that this is per class, not for all of them.
My Advice? Don’t overburden yourself with a task you are unable to handle. Your Middle School complaints will seem like nothing compared to AP.
